I started taking pictures when I was a teenager, for very simple reasons. I loved to capture moments and to preserve and share memories.

I enjoy the art and the science of photography—from creating and processing my images to fine art printing of my photographs. Realizing I needed to improve my photographic abilities, I earned a Certificate of Photography at the New York Institute of Photography and studied with legends such as Ansel Adams.

Photography has enriched my life, for which I am very grateful. My images are in thousands of publications and have been displayed in museum and juried gallery shows, including exhibits at the Oceanside Museum of Art in Oceanside, California, Natural History Museum in San Diego, Salmagundi Club in New York City, the Mpls Photo Center in Minneapolis, the Gotthelf Art Gallery in La Jolla, the Ashton Gallery in San Diego, and Art Wolfe's gallery in Seattle.  My portfolio of wild horse images was included in a special edition of Shadow and Light Magazine and in a book published by Shadow and Light Magazine, chosen through a juried selection process.

Recent awards from 2 county photo exhibitions include 5 first place ribbons, 3 third place ribbons, the Best of Division (color) the Judge’s Award of Excellence (one of two best of show awards), the Supervisors Award of Excellence, and the County Fair Board Award of Excellence.

Currently 700+ of my images are available for licensing through the stock agency Dreamstime, where I am known as the “Adeliepenguin”.
